This was a superb place to stay. The apartment is brilliantly located being a very short stroll from many bars and excellent restaurants that Rhodes Old Town offers and only about 5 minutes from the main square and yet it is really quiet. The apartment has tons of character and you get the early morning sun in the main bedrooms and the evening sun in the living room and smaller bedroom. We arrived late in the evening and were taken by taxi to the Red Gate of the Old Town and walked to the apartment from there and what a wonderful walk it was too with no cars – over the bridge over the moat, between enormous ancient stone walls, through arches and round hidden corners, and finally down the gentle slope of Pythagora Street between ancient houses and under more stone arches to the apartment where we were met, given the keys and shown round the property. The apartment was clean, tidy and welcoming and the wifi worked very well as did the air conditioning which was quiet. We didn’t touch the TV – what’s the point of going to Rhodes to watch TV? The rooms have very high ceilings which creates a sense of space too. You could easily use the table in the apartment to work off if you do digital nomad stuff, and the sofa and chairs were comfortable. Bed linen and towels etc. were also very clean. More widely, we found that the best restaurants were the ones that didn’t have photos of food outside them and were often one or two streets back from the main shopping streets. As usual, it’s best to find out where locals eat and go there. Something not to miss: a walk round the immense moat that surrounds the town – tranquil, awesomely huge and impressive. (The moat is a dry one.) You do have to work out where the various access points to the moat are though and the maps are quite unclear on this issue! Recommended! We may well return.
